Solutions & workarounds for Hexen II mapping problems

Some of those tips & tricks may be known already. I (re?)discovered them on my own because I needed solutions to practical problems I faced while working on Wheel Of Karma: A Tulku Odyssey. So they might be useful to you for your own Hexen II projects as well, who knows...
